Planning a Winter Wedding? Vogue Ballroom is Perfect for Receptions

People often rave about the joy a summer wedding brings, but the wedding planning aficionados at Vogue Ballroom believe that a winter wedding is just as good. The fresh, cool air on a sunny winter’s day is the perfect setting for saying your vows, as everyone is feeling nice and invigorated by the cooler temperatures. We don’t believe those negative Nancies who say getting married in the cold or rain is a bad omen; we think it brings family and friends closer together! We love winter weddings here at Vogue Ballroom, and we would like to provide you with a little list as to why they are a great option, perhaps even better than that of summer…

Despite the forecast, it’s actually less stressful

People have the misconception that because the weather is more frightful during a Melbourne winter it is a bad idea to be wed in it. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Because you have probably already planned to have your wedding inside you don’t have to worry about the random weather Melbourne can throw at you in the midst of summer. We’ve held so many summer receptions here when the day started off sunny, warm, and looking to stay that way for the whole day, only for it to change dramatically in the afternoon.

Regardless, if your wedding does happen to fall on a rainy day we will be waiting with open arms and a tarp taking you from your vehicle into the reception hall -we’re happy to it!

It’s not humid, thank the lord

Anyone who has lived in or spent even day in the Melbourne summer will know how humid it gets. You can barely walk down the street without breaking a sweat let alone down the aisle, but with a winter wedding you don’t have to worry about this. Also, the men don’t have stress about disastrous sweat patches appearing from glands they didn’t even know existed – suits will do that in summer.

Good for your honeymoon wallet

Rates for flights and hotels within Australia are cheaper in the winter months and there are usually less reservations, meaning that you can get an awesome honeymoon spot without the hefty price tag and less people – what more could you want for romance?
