Yes, we do. Since we are in high demand and have a large, highly trained Bridal team, we are able to accommodate up to 3 weddings in a day. The Bride will always have their Lead Makeup Artist and Lead Hairstylist for their big day and have their highly trained team to do the Bridal Party. The Lead Makeup Artist and Lead Hairstylist can fit up to 3 Brides in a day, leaving their team to finish up the rest of the party. If the Bride is done first thing in the morning, our team will be able to do any touch-ups for the Bride before they depart. We promise your Makeup and Hair will last all day!
For starters, more time and attention is spent with the bride from the very first day of contact up until the day of the wedding. From phone calls, emails, contracts, and creating day-of schedules to the extra time spent getting the bride ready on her big day, placing her veil, additional touch-up time, high-end products just for the Bride, spending extra time on her hair & makeup, making sure her look is perfect.....our focus is always on her! Of course, since the bride is the main client, as it’s her wedding day, all of this is included in her price.
Since it’s a group, the others are less, which if the bride is paying for them too—it saves her money. If we charged the same for bridesmaids that we have to charge the bride — they likely wouldn’t have their hair or makeup done. We have to earn a certain amount to block out the time it takes. Our costs are all our own–time, education/skills, products, mileage, and general business costs. That’s why we have to charge what may seem a higher rate in general.
You can discuss specifics with your stylist, but most hair and makeup pros will suggest 30 minutes per bridesmaid for hair and another 30 minutes for makeup. An hour window should be allotted for the bride for both hair and makeup application. We typically spend a total of 2 hours on the bride for hair & makeup. Bridesmaids will take about 45 minutes unless someone has abnormally long or thick hair.
Have everyone in the bridal party arrive with clean, dry hair and clean, moisturised skin compatible with fresh makeup.
If you have SPF in your moisturiser, we recommend avoiding anything over 15 SPF to avoid the “white face” look in photos. Exfoliate your lips so that your lipstick will stick, and whiten those pearly white teeth so that your smile stands out in photos. On the day of, wear a robe or button-down shirt so that your hair will stay in place, and sit back, relax, and enjoy the pampering before you walk down the aisle.
The bride should give herself an average of 1.5 hours for makeup and up to 2 hours for hair to ensure she receives exactly what she is looking for. If you are booking both services together, then we do the makeup and hair trial at the same time, putting your appointment time to 2 hours.

‘No apprentices, no receptionist, not even an answering machine, says owner Stavros Tavrou on the first day at Rakis. “If the phone rang mid-haircut, I’d have to hurry over on my stool. I used to take the phone off the hook when I went out to get lunch so that people would think we were really busy….”

About Me
The first thing you need to know about me is that I love that I can combine my two passions, which are hair and makeup artistry and saving animals. I achieve this mesh through education and promoting a more ethical, natural, safer and humane/vegan approach to beauty. My motto is the following; “that no animal should ever suffer for human vanity.” I am committed to helping save animals and do this through my volunteer work with the
Australian non-profit organisation Choose Cruelty-Free. The organisation I have volunteered for nearly two decades now as their official campaign, hair and makeup artist and PR Director, and in July 2019, I proudly took over the voluntary role of President of Choose Cruelty-Free. I also have my vegan health and safety blog LivingSafe.com.au where I write about the importance of using more natural, safer and cruelty-free cosmetic products.
How It All Began
I started out doing my hairdressing apprenticeship in the late 1980s at Katan/Kabu, a high-end salon in High St Armadale Melbourne. Once I completed my four-year apprenticeship, I stayed on at the salon for a couple more years and also studied makeup artistry at Flagstaff College.
In the early 1990's I branched out on my own, and for the last 27 years, I have freelanced, working in the fashion, advertising, music and bridal industries. I have been fortunate enough to have worked on some very exciting jobs both here in Australia and overseas, with some incredibly talented international recording artists, including; Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi, Ricky Martin, JImmy Barnes, Kylie Minogue, Lauren Hill and actress Madeleine West. Around 18 years ago, I started volunteering as a hair and makeup artist for the non-profit organisation Choose Cruelty-Free.
Once I understood how animals are tortured and killed for cosmetic testing, I vouched to never work for brands that test on animals. I also refused to work at Australian Fashion Week. It is run and promoted by L'Oreal ( they test their products on animals) and any fashion labels that use real fur and exotic skins in their collections.
I am passionate about animal welfare and strongly feel that no animal should ever suffer purely for human vanity. If we want to use makeup and other beauty and personal care products, we should do it ethically. All products I work with are vegan friendly and created by ethical, humane companies listed in the Choose Cruelty-Free Shopping Guide.

I began my business in 2007 after personally discovering how hair extensions could enhance my appearance and give me longer, natural-looking hair. Being frustrated with my naturally fine hair, which would never grow past my shoulders, I turned to micro bead extensions to thicken and lengthen my hair whilst retaining a natural look.
After a quick and straightforward 90-minute appointment, hair extensions gave me the look I wanted, and I also walked out feeling more confident than I ever had been. I fell in love with hair extensions because of how they made me feel and how they made me look. I could walk down the street and know that even if I wasn’t wearing makeup or my best clothes, at least my hair looked great.
This led to an extreme passion for extensions, and I wanted to learn everything about them and what was possible when applying them. So I went through various training courses to learn multiple methods and best practices and continued to work on improving and developing my extensions of knowledge and skills.
What I found was that salons didn’t understand how to get the best result with hair extensions for their clients- whether it be effectively blending colours or cutting the extensions into the natural hair to give a natural and beautiful effect.
I took the leap and started Emilly Hadrill Hair & Extensions so that I could use my knowledge to develop a salon that specialises in hair extensions to give clients like you a look they want, helping them feel more confident than ever.
Today we have four salons around Australia with a team of 20 talented and experienced hairdressers who love performing transformations every day that leave clients with a grin from ear to ear.
